Hardware Support Technician

Timing Solutions Ltd. - one of the leading Motorsport timing and data companies in the world - is currently looking for a competent and enthusiastic Hardware Support Technician to hit the ground running.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for motorsport and have the following personal skills:

  • Ability and willingness to travel to different locations
  • Good team working and communication skills
  • Able to manage the planning and organisation of their own workload, including prioritisation

The Role Will Involve

  • Preparation, installation, maintenance, and repair of company timing and GPS hardware in the workshop and at race circuits
  • Liaising with venues to ensure equipment and timing infrastructure are in good working order; arranging to install new, or repair any items as necessary
  • Maintaining timing and GPS systems to the company high standards to include calibration and certification of equipment
  • Liaising with the Operations Manager on the deployment of equipment at events
  • Supporting motorsport events, remotely or on site as appropriate
  • Preparing and/or reviewing documentation for the use of technical equipment
  • Attending suitably approved courses

Essential Skills

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in a Technical environment
  • Good analytical and fault-finding capability
  • Good practical skills, including soldering
  • Good IT and networking skills, including the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation

Working Time

The role is office based at Tamworth with off-site work at race circuits repairing, installing timing & GPS systems and supporting events within our customer base as required.

Working times vary by agreement which will include some weekend working.

When working off-site hours vary depending on the requirements.

Full Stack .NET Developer

Are you the person we are looking for? Are you highly motivated, enthusiastic, with a desire to make a positive contribution? Then Timing Solutions Ltd can offer you an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and experienced team.

The successful candidate must be a confident, innovative, Full stack developer with a background in .NET and related technologies ready to hit the ground running.

The Role Will Involve

Working on a wide variety of new and existing projects across multiple platforms (Web, Desktop and Mobile) using both front and back-end technologies. The team works on both internal and customer-facing applications; and the successful applicant will be expected to provide support to end-users.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the full software design life cycle. They should have experience in designing, coding, and testing applications; and should be comfortable coding in a number of languages

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working with .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET Core, WPF)
  • Experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end libraries/frameworks (Vue, React etc.)
  • Experience with SQL or NoSQL Databases
  • Knowledge of RESTFful, SPA, and MVC concepts and architectures
  • Good, practical experience with modern, responsive web designs using the latest methodologies (semantic HTML5, CSS, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of version control systems (Git/SVN)
  • High analytical capability
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivation
  • Ability and willingness to travel to different locations
  • A current full UK driving licence

Preferred Skills

  • Experience creating real-time applications using TCP/IP or WebSockets
  • Knowledge of Project management methodologies – including Agile
  • Experience developing for, and deploying to, cloud computing platforms (Azure/AWS)
  • Experience working on microservice based systems
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, k8s)
  • Embedded system development

Working Time

Standard office hours are 9-5 with an hour lunch break.

The role is office based but some off-site work will be required.
